The IUCNP Education Programme is committed to raising the awareness of the broader community about environmental issues and motivating all sectors of society to make commitments to sustainable practices. The challenge is to put in place effective education programmes that facilitate environmental awareness. This website has been developed for this express purpose. The objective is to generate interest among students, teachers, experts and the general public alike and initiating positive behavioural change towards nature and natural resources.

We have tried to ensure that it is of interest to not only the general public, teachers and students but biodiversity and environmental experts as well. It contains substantial information on Pakistan's biodiversity and its environmental issues, and detailed lists of various fauna of the country including birds, mammals, reptiles and marine life are also available. Special sections have been created for children and teachers, which have interactive games and lesson plans. More importantly, there is a section containing articles from various experts in the field of biodiversity. For these reasons, the information contained here could be used for research purposes by students, teachers as well as experts.

The website will also have a specific theme every four months. As a start, the Mangrove Forests of Pakistan have been chosen and in addition to general information, mangrove specific games, lesson plans and technical articles have been made available.

We hope that you enjoy visiting our website and would welcome any comments or suggestions that you might have at education@iucnp.org or webmaster@iucnp.org
